To my brides to be, It's been two years since I opened Accapella Bridal and what an amazing journey it has been, and one that I hope will only continue!

As many of you know, I have been altering bridal gowns for many years and this has been something that has continued since opening up Accapella Bridal. A big part of the reason I opened my own bridal boutique was so that I could give brides the complete and stress free experience when choosing a bridal gown - from having a variety of high quality gowns with a range of prices to choose from, to styling the brides, to altering those very same gowns knowing that they were in experienced hands. I don't believe that this part of your wedding preparations should be stressful! 

It's time for me to really commit to this being what I want to do with Accapella Bridal, and so I have made the decision that I will not be altering gowns purchased from other bridal boutiques. As much as I will find it hard to say no and my heart goes out to brides who have purchased gowns that have either been altered incorrectly or sold without the experience of knowing the alterations that a gown allows, I'm tired of picking up the pieces and fixing other people's mistakes. The latest has been a bride who purchased a gown for $4000 at another local boutique and will now cost her $800-$1000 in alterations because the beading requires it all to be done by hand. $5000 for the gown and the stress is definitely not worth it for this poor bride!

It is far too stressful for me and I only hope that brides in the Illawarra and from elsewhere have taken on board the advice I have given - be extremely careful when buying your gown from a salesperson who does not have seamstress experience. Please open your eyes! What looks like a saving at the beginning can come back and double in alterations. 

It's time for me to invest 150% in what Accapella Bridal is meant to be - from Accapella Bridal you're buying a gown, but also a fantastic experience when buying that gown and the invaluable piece of mind that you won't be walking out with tears and stress and alteration bills that cost as much as the dress. 
Without giving myself too much praise, I'm an excellent dressmaker and now it's time to have faith that brides will value this and trust my experience by making an appointment to see me from day dot.
