The bride’s dress was soft and unstructured, and had a sheer back, making a traditional bra or internal boning impossible. To get around this, I asked the bride to buy a cheap nude bra that I could incorporate into the dress.

I cut the bra up the sides and discarded the back. I added an extra piece of boning at the front and attached the bra to the dress bodice. The bra came with a set of clear straps, so I utilised one under the single lace shoulder, which disguised it perfectly. I finally ran the bodice in slightly under the bust which provided just enough shape to give the bust a little lift.

The bride loved the dress both before and after my alterations…but I wanted a better fit. We finished up both happy!
