Square Neckline Making a comeback

Square Neckline Making a comeback

Square Neckline Wedding Dresses – A Modern Classic Making a Comeback

Square necklines are trending again — and for good reason. They’re timeless, structured, and incredibly flattering when they fit just right.

This style is especially great for fuller bust brides. It also works beautifully on smaller busts, but the fit needs to be precise — any gaping or looseness is instantly noticeable. A true square neckline features straps that continue seamlessly into the bodice, creating a clean, elegant frame for the décolletage.

Lately, I’ve been seeing too many gapey square necklines on social media. Most of the time, it's a sizing issue. If you're ordering a fitted square neckline dress, don’t size up unnecessarily. For example, if your bust and waist match the size chart but your hips are larger, resist the urge to go up a full size. Instead, ask your bridal consultant whether the designer offers split sizing. If not, a professional seamstress can check whether there’s enough seam allowance in the hips to let it out — without compromising the fit of the bodice.

The key to this style is structure and fit. When done well, a square neckline sits snugly against the body and creates a flattering, fashion-forward silhouette.

I'm the seamstress at Accapella Bridal, and fit is always my focus.
