The Small Details Matter

This is one of those little behind-the-scenes moments that shows why quality control matters so much in bridal.

When one of our brides tried on her gown, there was a small sleeve binding detail that wasn’t sitting the way we expect a wedding dress to sit. Did the bride notice it at first? No, not at all. But it stood out to us straight away.

To us, that small detail was not good enough for a bride walking down the aisle, and it was not the standard we want for gowns here at Accapella Bridal.

So we took a video, went back to the designer, and explained exactly why it needed to be corrected. I also showed Alison so she could understand the level of detail we look for in every gown that comes through our store.

By the bride’s second fitting, the issue had been fixed. When we showed her the before-and-after video, she said, “Oh my goodness, I wouldn't have noticed it, but I can see how much better it looks now. That’s why I came here, because I know you look at everything.”

And that truly means everything to us.

Would every bridal store notice a detail like this? Maybe not. But with my background in sewing, fitting, and bridal alterations, and Alison’s growing eye for construction and detail in the dressmaking side, we see things carefully. We know how a gown should be constructed, how it should sit, and how it should feel on the bride.

Sometimes it’s the details a bride doesn’t notice at first that make all the difference in the end.
